LIVED EXPERIENCE

Our courses are peer-led by people who understand the journey because we have walked it ourselves. You are not broken, recovery is possible with the right support, tools, and community.

EVIDENCE BASED

This is not a support group. You’ll be equipped with evidence-based tools focused on moral injury, within a safe, respectful, and caring environment.

FULLY FUNDED

We aim to offer these courses free to participants. We do not believe people should be charged to access support for trauma sustained through service.

LIFE AFTER REBOOT

Join our Alumni and stay connected with other REBOOT graduates. Find your tribe and build community. Become a Course Leader or Mentor.

No, you do not have to have a faith, or believe in God to partake in a REBOOT Course. We welcome people from all faiths and walks of life. Our trauma Course teaches multi faith and spiritual principles that give us tools to overcome trauma.

No, you do not need to be currently serving, a veteran, or a first responder to participate in REBOOT. Trauma can affect people from all walks of life. Partners, adult children, family members, and support people are also welcome, and many have found REBOOT deeply helpful for their own healing journey.

Our team is made up of lived-experience leaders who understand the journey and have a heart to serve. Research shows peer support can improve recovery, hope, and self-belief. Visit our About Us page to meet the team.

  • REBOOT does not offer medication, we do not offer professional counselling, we are not a support group.
  • What makes us different is that we are a team of lived-experience people, helping others to develop tools to overcome trauma.
  • The REBOOT course addresses the wounds of the soul and moral injury, which many psychologists and psychiatrists don’t do.
  • We do believe that these professionals play a vital role in aiding people on their healing journey and we do have a list of professionals who we are able to put you in touch with if you require professional help.

A moral injury occurs when an individual’s moral conscience and values are harmed due to a perceived moral wrongdoing, either by themselves or others. This can lead to deep feelings of guilt or shame, moral confusion, and a sense of alienation from society.

We acknowledge that everyone’s trauma is different. While one person’s trauma may be from an extreme scenario at war, and the other a distant childhood memory that built fear … each person’s ability to cope with traumatic experiences is different from the other and we don’t discriminate by a ‘level of trauma’. We are here to help everyone. Healing from trauma is for all.

Yes! We welcome friends and family members of those suffering from trauma. We understand that it is not only the person who has experienced the trauma who suffers, but also those who are in close relationship with that person. It is important to gain understanding of what a person with a trauma experience(s) is going through and how to best support them. We want to do all we can to lower the depression and suicide rate in Australia.

Feel free to bring your notebook, your favourite pen, a friend or family member, comfortable clothes and heart or mind willing to find Hope, Healing and Purpose for your life.

At this time the REBOOT courses are free. We have incredible support from our Sponsors and from donations made by participants/individuals who want to help see people’s lives free of depression, shame, anxiety. You can Donate Here today.

No, we don’t provide childcare facilities or care staff at our courses. We encourage you to attend without children so that you can focus on your healing journey.

We are happy to open the REBOOT course to ages 18 and over. Please speak with us if you have any questions, the discussions at the course can often be difficult to hear and we therefore recommend a more mature age group.

Please be aware that private and difficult content is sometimes shared at these courses. It is extremely important to respect the privacy of each individual on the course.

Yes! Please don’t cancel – we encourage you to take the first step and join us on the journey of restoration toward Hope, Healing and Purpose. There is no better time for it than NOW. You will find a room full of people with compassion and care, and you may just make a new group of friends for life. Everyone is on this road together – and we are here to help. Let us know if you feel anxious and we can send a team member out the venue to meet you before we start, or to call you before an online course so that you can feel more settled to take the first step.

Our courses are delivered in a safe, respectful, multi-faith environment, welcoming people from all backgrounds while honouring each person’s beliefs, story, and choice to participate.

Our courses are independently reviewed by qualified psychologists using de-identified participant data collected over a set timeframe. This helps us evaluate o

REBOOT courses have a 90% completion rate. We rarely have participants drop out once they have started the course.

REBOOT trauma recovery courses were founded by a Evan and Jenny Owens in the US and have been culturally adapted for Australian participants.
