Our disaster recovery training programs equip organisations and frontline teams with practical tools and trauma-informed strategies to support communities impacted by disaster.

Suitable for community and sector organisations, service providers, councils, neighbourhood centres, emergency support services, and frontline teams, the programs build confidence, consistency, and capability across all stages of disaster recovery.

Understanding of stress, trauma, loss, and disruption after disaster, and how these present in individuals and communities
Trauma-informed communication skills, including safe, practical engagement strategies
Confidence to respond to distress and disclosures while maintaining boundaries
Tools to support wellbeing, connection, and ongoing recovery
Strategies to build hope, resilience, and long-term recovery pathways
Knowledge of referral pathways, including effective warm referrals
Improved collaboration across agencies to reduce service gaps

Trauma Informed Practice Foundations

What trauma looks like after disaster and why it shows up differently
Creating psychological safety in everyday interactions
Trauma informed communication, language, and engagement
Working within role boundaries and safe referral triggers

THIS IS A 2 COURSE PATHWAY
Attend one day or complete the two day pathway. Course 1 is foundational and strongly recommended before Course 2.
Participants may register for either course, or both.

This course is aimed at those who have been impacted by a natural disaster, live in an area that has been impacted by natural disasters or work in disaster recovery.
